Waste, or rubbish, trash, junk, garbage, depending on the type of material or the regional terminology, is an unwanted or undesired material or substance. It may consist of the unwanted materials left over from a manufacturing process (industrial, commercial, mining or agricultural operations,) or from community and household activities. The material may be discarded or accumulated, stored, or treated (physically, chemically, or biologically), prior to being discarded or recycled. It is also used to describe something we use inefficiently or inappropriately.

Positive Creations

The motivation is to create a positive approach towards waste, we use Art as a tool that brings us closer to waste. By using garbage as a material of our creation we will create a different approach towards the subject. A change in approach could lead to a change in our every day actions, our habits. we might take the time to make "greaner" choices as consumers.

PASSIONATE PEOPLE
Is Waste a Problem ?

Waste is a human creation, a compleatly unnatural outcome of our lifestyle.

Waste is treated by privet companies and regulated by the waste department of the Ville de Montreal municipality. Almost 40% of our taxes are invested in serving the waste management systems. After a guided visit in the biggest landfill in Canada, called the 'BFI canada' in Terrebonne I witnessed the problem. I discovered that we, in Quebec, create the most waste per person than anywhere else in the world. sadly, 70 % of the waste that ends up in the landfill could be reused, as in recycling or composting. So there is a specific issue that we have to take in to account. We can have a huge impact on the quality and quantity of waste.
